Marrakesh a city recreation : Visits and monuments

Marrakech is rich in history and has managed to preserve and live most of its monuments.
The oldest is the Ben Youssef Medersa, which was built in 1570 by the Saadian. It was the largest Koranic school Maghreb which housed up to 900 students.
A true gem of the traditional Moroccan architecture, you can find out more by visiting the Museum of Marrakech in the same location. This traditional house of the nineteenth century now temporary exhibitions devoted to contemporary art.
Two palaces are also essential in Marrakech, El Badi Palace, built between 1568 and 1603 by Sultan Ahmed El Mansour. And the Palais de la Bahia built in 1880 and was the home of Ahmed Ba an important vizier of the sultan of the time. The best of crafts is combined in order to give a masterpiece of architecture.
The visit of Menara will be an opportunity to turn horse-drawn carriage ride to get there. This large garden of olive trees is fully irrigated through its basin 200m long and 100m wide. Especially romantic, this garden is also famous for its pavilion built in 1870 by the Saadian au bord du bassin.
As the Jardin Majorelle, you'll be charmed by so many natural beauties. Bringing together an extensive collection of rare species, this garden was designed in 20 years by the painter Jacques Majorelle and was bought by his death by Yves Saint Laurent and Pierre Bergé who promptly donated to the municipality to ensure that these wonders can be shared by all. |
